Job summary

South Bend Community School Corp invites applications for the Migrant Education Program (MEP) - MRSC Identification and Recruitment Support Specialist. This role supports migrant students in Region 1, travelling to homes, farms, schools, and community sites to identify and recruit eligible children.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or equivalent experience, strong English/Spanish communication, and the ability to work with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to work with a variety of people.
• Fluent in English and Spanish, with strong oral and written communication.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Thorough understanding of Region 1 and familiarity with its counties.
• Reliable, ethical, and a self-starter with attention to detail.
• Proficient in Google Suite and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform region-wide identification and recruitment of migrant students.
• Conduct re-enrollment interviews in accordance with regulations.
• Input data into COE Reporter; utilize MSIX and certify COEs.
• Coordinate with MRSC staff to ensure migrant students receive referral services.
• Assist OSY with Pre & Post Assessments and workplace training.
• Create ID & R plans and manage data spreadsheets of contacts for farmers and agencies.
• Advocate for migratory children to gain access to education, health, nutrition, and social services.
• Coordinate translation support for migrant parents when needed.
