Job summary

TEKsystems is urgently hiring a Bilingual Medical Receptionist / Referral Coordinator for a busy outpatient healthcare team in Compton, CA. The role focuses on referrals, authorizations, insurance verification, and patient support to ensure seamless access to specialty care.

Responsibilities include processing referrals, coordinating with providers and plans, obtaining authorizations, and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of referral and authorization experience is required.
• Experience working with IPA/HMO plans is preferred.
• Strong understanding of insurance processes and prior authorizations.
• Knowledge of ICD and CPT codes.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Cerner experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process specialty and diagnostic referrals.
• Coordinate appointments with outside providers, specialists, and health plans.
• Obtain and track authorizations and referral statuses.
• Communicate appointment details and provide patient education.
• Maintain accurate referral logs and patient records.
• Verify insurance coverage and demographic information.
• Follow up on outstanding referrals and required documentation.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, providers, and insurance carriers.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, and front office responsibilities.
