Redbud Pediatrics is a growing privately owned pediatric medical office with two locations in Wichita, KS. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality pediatric-specific medicine, continuity of care, and accountability while partnering with families to help their children reach their full potential.

Job Summary:

The Medical Office Receptionist will answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and greet and assist patients in addition to general office duties in a physician's office.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients and visitors to the medical office by greeting patients and visitors in person and on the telephone and answering inquiries or referring questions to other staff members.
  • Schedule patient appointments to optimize patient satisfaction, provider time and most efficient use of exam rooms.
  • Review patient electronic record to ensure completeness of intake forms.
  • Scan and import files into electronic medical record.
  • Maintain reception area in a clean, neat and orderly condition.
  • Accurately record patient payments and balances receipts daily.
  • Validate medical insurance via internet or phone.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment.
  • Basic office skills such as typing and filing.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • High school or equivalent
  • At least one year medical office experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time unassisted, 50 pounds assisted.
  • Must be current on required immunizations, including annual influenza vaccine and COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Non-smoking workplace.
