Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of work experience in a medical clinic or similar environment.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with patients and records information while greeting, checking-in, checking-out or scheduling appointments.
• Uses computer equipment and programs to add new patient information, prints out relevant forms and schedules appointments.
• Ensures patient contact and emergency contact information is accurately documented in the system.
• Answers telephones, takes detailed messages, and directs them to the appropriate person.
• Clearly communicates information about ChenMed staff to patients and others.
• Verifies patient insurance and collects copays; assists with referrals as needed.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures their comfort during visits.
• Acts as HEDIS champion for PCP by highlighting needs for scheduled patients.
• Participates in daily/weekly huddles to share patient details.
