Job summary

NYC Kids RISE seeks a highly organized Community Engagement Associate (Mandarin) to support direct parent engagement for the Save for College Program. The role focuses on helping families understand accounts, guiding them through opening savings accounts, and connecting them to supportive services.

The position requires bilingual English and Mandarin, 2-4 years of related work, strong communication, and experience in presenting information and facilitating workshops.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (Required).
• 2-4 years of related work experience.
• Interest in financial empowerment and/or college readiness.
• Ability to lead presentations and facilitate workshops in English and Mandarin.
• Strong oral and written communications.
• Proficiency in MS/Google Suite.
• Familiarity with CRM databases.
• Familiarity with video meeting/webinar tools.

Responsibilities

• Present Save for College Program information to parents in English and Mandarin.
• Conduct direct outreach to participating families via in-person, phone, text, and email.
• Deliver presentations and facilitate informational workshops.
• Provide one-on-one navigational support for viewing and linking college saving accounts.
• Staff the NYC Kids RISE Hotline and help families sign up for workshops.
• Support events logistics and follow-up.
• Ensure timely follow-up and referrals to additional services.
• Enter data into NYC Kids RISE CRM and maintain data security.
• Support anti-oppression practices within the organization.
