Job summary

NYC Kids RISE seeks a highly organized Community Engagement Associate (Mandarin) to support our direct parent engagement strategy and educate families about the Save for College Program. The role focuses on helping families understand savings options and complete foundational steps, with an emphasis on opening and linking college savings accounts.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and Mandarin (Required).
• 2-4 years of related work experience.
• Interest in or previous work in financial empowerment and/or college & career readiness.
• Ability to lead presentations and workshops in English and Mandarin.
• Strong oral and written communications skills.
• Proficiency in MS/Google Suite.
• Familiarity with CRM databases.
• Proficiency in Zoom/Google Meet/MS Teams or similar.
• Availability for some evenings, early mornings, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Becoming fluent in Save for College program materials to present in various settings.
• Conduct direct outreach to participating parents in person, phone, text or email.
• Deliver presentations and facilitate informational workshops.
• Provide one-on-one navigational support for viewing and linking accounts.
• Staff the NYC Kids RISE Hotline for questions and workshop sign-ups.
• Staff Save for College events, helping with logistics and follow-up.
• Ensure timely follow-up and excellent customer service to families.
• Support administrative projects and outreach via text messages.
• Provide feedback and ideas to improve engagement and accessibility.
• Represent NYC Kids RISE with community partners.
• Complete timely data entry for interactions and workshop attendance.
• Maintain data security and privacy policies and contribute to anti-racism work.
