Job summary

You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable findings under Center Manager supervision and Center Physician guidance. This role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• LPN/LVN license in IL is required.
• CPR and AED certification required.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• High school diploma or equivalent nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange emergency care per Center Physician orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unresolved medical/technical issues or donor safety guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/ER; consult EHS guidance as needed.
• Serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations within the local community.
