Job summary

Cesar Chavez Foundation in Houston, TX is seeking a Leasing Agent to assist the property manager with leasing, marketing, and resident relations across two community properties. The role focuses on achieving high occupancy by leasing current availability and pre-leasing future units.

You will interview prospective tenants, process leases and deposits, manage resident accounts, coordinate moves and inspections, handle tenant issues, and generate occupancy reports.

Qualifications

• Experience with LIHTC/Tax Credit/HUD/Section 8 regulations and forms.
• Demonstrates excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of Yardi or similar property management software.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview prospective tenants and assess needs and qualifications.
• Complete lease forms, collect deposits.
• Maintain bookkeeping and tenant accounts for receipts and disbursements.
• Prepare vacancy, occupancy, reports, and turnover schedules.
• Coordinate moves, inspections, and tenant issues.
• Assist with evictions per court order and supervisor directions.
• Respond to emergency calls and communicate with residents.
• Compile listings of available rental properties.
