Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• WSP/FBI background clearance (employee pays fee).
• Meets one of the NCLB definitions: Associate's degree or credits or Para Pro score.
• Demonstrated competence in basic academic/communication skills.
• Positive and flexible attitude with students, staff, and families.
• Clear communication skills in English and Spanish.
• Fluent in Spanish, oral and written.
• Willingness to work toward core competencies.
• Ability to assist students with various needs.
• Regular attendance is essential.
• Safety and health of students and others is essential.
• Perform other school-related duties as needed.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and collaborate with parents/legal guardians regarding student progress.
• Maintain open lines of communication with students and parents about academic and behavioral progress.
• Establishes cooperative relations with others.
• May include lifting, bending, stooping, stretching or other physical activities.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
