Job Description:

This position provides interpretation and translation services for parent/guardian meetings, conferences, or as needed for materials. The role supports clear communication between families and district staff during meetings and related school communications.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Communicate and collaborate with parents/legal guardians regarding student progress for the purpose of supporting teacher expectations, developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom or learning goals

Performance Responsibilities:

• Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning both the broad academic and behavioral progress of all assigned students
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others
• May include lifting, bending, stooping, stretching or other physical activities
• Other responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED
• WSP/FBI fingerprint background clearance (fee paid by the employee)
• Meets on of the following NCLB definition
• • A two-year Associate's Degree
  • 72-quarter or 48-semester college credits, or
  • A passing score of 455 on the ETS Para Pro Assessment
• Demonstrated competence in basic academic/communication skills appropriate to site assignment
• Positive and flexible attitude with students, staff, parents, and team members
• Clear communication skills
• Must be fluent in Spanish, oral and written
• Willingness to work toward successful demonstration of core competencies
• Ability and willingness to assist students with physical, behavioral, developmental, communication, health, or learning needs
• Regular attendance is an essential function of this position
• The safety and health of students and others is an essential function of this position
• Perform other school related duties as need

Pay/Benefits

Rate of Pay: $29.29 an hour/$205 for a full day/$102.50 for a half-day
