Job summary

BI Incorporated is seeking a case manager for the Intensive Supervision Appearance Program (ISAP) in Detroit. You will administer policies and procedures under the DHS contract, coordinating services and supervising participants to ensure compliance and successful outcomes.

Responsibilities include creating service plans, maintaining confidential records, coordinating translations, and facilitating legal and cultural orientations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Psychology, Social Work, Criminal Justice or related field preferred.
• At least two years of customer service or case management experience; experience in law, social work, detention or multicultural work preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to perform home visits.
• United States citizenship required.
• Must live in the U.S. 3 of the last 5 years (military and study abroad included).
• Strong verbal and written communication; ability to interpret rules and compose reports.
• Sound judgment and ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
• Ability to deal tactfully with the public.
• Basic knowledge of immigration laws, regulations and procedures.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to interpret electronic monitoring messages and daily summary reports.
• Good typing skills for data entry.
• Ability to work with computers and software typically used by the department.

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates, reviews and updates case management and individual service plans for ISAP participants in conformance with regulations and program requirements.
• Maintains accurate and complete case records from entry to release; ensures confidentiality.
• Conducts intake interview and orientation with each ISAP participant within contractual timeframes.
• Installs and monitors electronic monitoring equipment on ISAP participants.
• Assists ISAP participants with obtaining travel documents and maintains a log.
• Evaluates English proficiency to determine needed resources.
• Coordinates translation services for ISAP participants.
• Connects participants with community resources (transportation, medical, education, etc.).
• Supervises ISAP participants in Company offices.
• Establishes schedules including counseling sessions and court appearances.
• Coordinates attendance at legal and cultural orientation sessions.
• Reviews service plans, conducts risk/needs assessments and writes progress reports.
• Reports program violations promptly.
• Conducts home visits to verify residences.
• Performs emergency counseling when needed.
• Maintains relationships with translation resources in the community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
