Catholic Charities of Baltimore seeks an Immigration Staff Attorney to provide counsel and representation to low-income immigrants at the Esperanza Center, including tribunals and DHS matters. The role includes supervising law students and volunteers, and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team within a 1-year grant funded framework.

The attorney will handle a high-volume docket (asylum, SIJS, visas, TPS, NACARA, naturalization), ensure timely filings, and lead community outreach while

Competenze

• Must possess JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law.
• Knowledge of immigration law and procedures.
• Experience with case management software desirable.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred for diverse client base.
• Proficient in Windows, Word, Excel and Outlook.

Mansioni

• Provide counsel and representation to low-income immigrants in courts and DHS.
• Manage a high-volume caseload across asylum, SIJS, TPS, NACARA, and more.
• Conduct client intakes, interviews, and consultations; represent clients in various proceedings.
• Perform legal research using INA, CFR, AILA and related authorities.
• Maintain accurate documentation and grant deliverables; ensure compliance.
• Lead outreach, workshops, and represent the agency publicly.
• Recruit, train, and mentor pro bono attorneys.
• Maintain confidential, well-organized case files.
