Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Washington is seeking a Supervising Attorney in immigration law to supervise a small team and provide high‑quality legal services to clients seeking relief and representation.

You will interview clients, manage cases from intake to petitions, and coordinate referrals to navigators and pro bono colleagues. This role emphasizes mentorship, training, and collaboration with partner agencies.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree required and licensed to practice law in any state and/or DC.
• Five years of immigration law experience required.
• Experience supervising staff preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview individuals seeking legal assistance and advise options per current laws.
• Provide ongoing legal representation from intake through filings and petitions.
• Screen for navigator services and refer to Newcomer Network navigators as needed.
• Conduct community outreach and organize workshops on legal issues.
• Supervise and mentor staff and volunteers; conduct evaluations and implement program changes.
• Lead weekly case rounds with assigned staff and assist in staff meetings.
• Refer cases to the Pro Bono Team as appropriate and mentor pro bono attorneys.
• Assist in grant writing and external/internal program reporting.
