Job summary

Inovar Packaging Group seeks an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits support, HRIS administration, and employee engagement.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, initiative, confidentiality, communication skills, and the ability to balance operational HR support with strategic people-focused priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in HR, business or related field with equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, generalist/employee relations environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO) and local requirements.
  • Experience with HRIS/ATS, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools; ADP Workforce Now preferred.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR or similar certification preferred or willingness to pursue.
  • Bilingual skills a plus depending on workforce needs.
  • Strong judgment, confidentiality, communication and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily HR support to employees and managers, interpreting policies and escalating complex issues.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, postings, screening, interviews, offers and onboarding.
  • Coordinate onboarding to ensure a welcoming, compliant introduction to the company.
  • Assist with employee relations, coaching conversations, investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate records in the HRIS and personnel files per policy and law.
  • Support benefits administration, leaves, payroll changes and status updates.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, compliance, benefits support, HRIS administration, and employee engagement. This role serves as a trusted resource for employees and managers while helping ensure consistent application of company policies, employment practices, and workplace expectations.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong judgment, initiative, confidentiality, communication skills, and the ability to balance operational HR support with strategic people-focused priorities.

  • Provide daily HR support to employees and managers by answering questions, interpreting policies, and escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, offer preparation, pre-employment requirements, and new hire communication.
  • Coordinate and facilitate onboarding activities to ensure new employees receive a consistent, welcoming, and compliant introduction to the organization.
  • Assist managers with employee relations matters, including coaching conversations, documentation, investigations, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and personnel files in accordance with company policy and applicable legal requirements.
  • Support benefits administration, leave of absence coordination, payroll-related changes, employee status changes, and other HR transactions.
  • Partner with managers to support performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, development planning, and follow-up documentation.
  • Assist with training initiatives, compliance programs, employee engagement activities, and communication campaigns.
  • Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend updates to HR policies, processes, and practices as needed.
  • Prepare HR reports, track key metrics, and use data to identify trends, support decision-making, and recommend process improvements.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen employee experience, operational efficiency, and leadership capability.
  • Utilize ADP Workforce Now to support the employee lifecycle by maintaining accurate employee and recruiting data, managing personnel transactions, administering the applicant tracking system (ATS), generating reports, and ensuring data integrity and compliance across HR processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive human resources experience, preferably in a generalist, employee relations, manufacturing, distribution, or multi-site environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEO, and related state and local requirements.
  • Experience using HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools.Preferred ADP Workforce Now.
  • SHRM-CP, PHR, or similar HR certification preferred or willingness to pursue certification as part of professional development.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus, depending on workforce needs.
  • Employee Relations Judgment: Demonstrates sound judgment, confidentiality, and fairness when handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Communication: Communicates clearly and professionally with employees, managers, and leadership across all levels of the organization.
  • Business Partnership: Builds credibility with managers by providing practical HR guidance that supports business needs and employee experience.
  • Problem Solving: Identifies root causes, evaluates options, and recommends effective solutions.
  • Organization and Follow-Through: Manages multiple priorities, meets deadlines, and maintains accurate documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement:Looks for opportunities to improve HR processes, employee communication, and manager effectiveness.
  • Leadership Potential:Shows initiative, ownership, coaching ability, and readiness to take on increasing responsibility.

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to work in an office, plant, warehouse, or multi-site environment as required.
  • May require occasional travel to company locations, meetings, or training events.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
