Reporting directly to the VP of HR, this role will build talent pipelines spanning plant operations, engineering, sales, and corporate functions. This role balances high-volume manufacturing hiring with niche technical sourcing to support facility growth and production goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Full-Cycle Recruitment: Manage the end-to-end hiring process for plant operators, sales, supply chain professionals, and corporate teams.
  • VP Collaboration: Partner with the VP of HR and Regional Human Resources Director to align recruitment strategies with plant headcount budgets and capacity planning.
  • Hiring Manager Partnership: Consult with Plant Managers, Production Supervisors, and Department Heads to define technical skill requirements.
  • Proactive Sourcing: Build pipelines for high-demand manufacturing roles using local job boards, technical trade schools, social media and other methods.
  • Candidate Experience: Maintain transparent communication with candidates by navigating shift-schedule requirements and physical job assessments.
  • Metrics & Reporting: Monitor and report manufacturing-specific recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, turnover correlation, agency spend) to leadership.
  • Employer Branding: Promote the company's safety culture and career pathways at local job fairs and industry networking events.
Essential Job Functions
  • Develops and executes effective talent acquisition and sourcing strategies to ensure excellence in attraction of candidates, supporting the talent needs for overall organization.
  • Manages the recruitment function and budget including spend across various technologies and oversight of the negotiation and management of recruitment related vendors.
  • Drives best practices in online recruitment including passive sourcing, social media utilization, and targeted messaging. Manages employer branding and recruitment marketing efforts in collaboration with the marketing department.
  • Manages the internal job opportunity process
  • Acts as overall owner for the ATS along with the HRIS Data Analyst and HR Leadership, evaluating systems-related efficiencies, data accuracy and ensuring a fully compliant recruitment process.
  • Remains current on changes in the labor market and employment laws; ensure hiring standards and practices adhere to all laws and regulations.
  • Manages and improves recruitment processes to drive strong performance in the areas of cost-of-hire, time to fill, aged requisition reduction, candidate and hiring manager satisfaction, diversity hiring and sourcing optimization.
  • Establish a robust military recruiting program and process that enables the company to have a constant flow of qualified applicants who are completing their service from all branches of the military and for retired veterans.
  • Leads community outreach to local agencies, government programs, high schools, technical schools and colleges including attending career fairs and conducting presentations to prospective employees.
  • Leads internal communication and training to drive talent acquisition best practices, facilitates hiring manager ownership and participation, and ensures the candidate experience is best-in-class.
  • Coordinate the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, posting job ads, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Conducting initial candidate assessments and maintaining candidate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Keep candidates informed about their application status and provide updates throughout the recruitment process.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute job fairs and recruitment events.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to determine staffing needs for job fairs and ensure proper logistics and promotional materials are prepared.
  • Represent the company at job fairs, engage with candidates, provide information, and collect resumes.
  • Support various HR projects, including teammate onboarding, teammate engagement initiatives, and employer branding activities.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to implement recruitment strategies, streamline processes, and enhance candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Create and post job advertisements, source, and screen resumes, conduct interviews, and assess candidate qualifications and fit.
  • Conduct reference checks, required testing, background screenings, drug testing and extend job offers while negotiating employment terms (In coordination with Leadership approvers).
  • Schedule interviews, meetings, and travel arrangements for recruiters, candidates, and hiring managers.
  • Maintain accurate records of recruitment activities and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Other administrative tasks required for the role, including filing, documentation, and correspondence.
  • Manage relationships with external staffing vendors, ensuring seamless coordination, and diligently conducting thorough searches to secure the most competitive rates in the market.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience: 3+ years of recruitment experience, with at least 1 year dedicated to a manufacturing or industrial environment or a minimum of 5 years in a similar HR management position required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing environments, shift schedules (e.g., 2-2-3, rotating shifts), and safety-first compliance.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and job boards targeted toward skilled trades and production labor.
  • Communication: Strong relationship-building skills to connect effectively with both entry-level hourly workers and corporate executives.
  • Autonomy: Ability to manage high-volume requisitions while maintaining attention to detail and compliance.

  • Proficient in ADP, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Office, PowerPoint.

  • HR Certification/SHRM Certification desired.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Talent Acquisition experience specifically within flexible packaging, plastics manufacturing, or printing/conversion industries is preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA awareness or manufacturing-related compliance guidelines preferred.
  • Military recruiting experience or establishing military recruiting programs is preferred.
