Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree is required.
• At least five years of progressive HR generalist experience with emphasis on employee relations and full-cycle recruitment.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish is required.
• Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
• Working knowledge of ADP Workforce is a plus.
• Must be extremely flexible with job duties and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• Must possess confidentiality, integrity, and accuracy.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (intermediate).
• Knowledge of Illinois and federal employment laws; Washington state laws a plus.
• Ability to travel occasionally, in-state and out-of-state.

Responsibilities

• Resolve employee relations issues and conduct thorough investigations.
• Work with management on policy interpretation, discipline, performance, and terminations.
• Administer and interpret labor agreements and assist with grievances.
• Conduct new hire orientation and manage onboarding.
• Assist in benefits administration and Open Enrollment communications.
• Oversee leave of absence programs.
• Coordinate workers’ compensation claims with the Safety Manager.
• Conduct exit interviews and provide insights to management.
• Assist in developing new programs, policies, and procedures.
• Full-cycle recruitment for exempt and non-exempt positions.
• Collaborate with Payroll to submit employee changes accurately.
• Develop partnerships with employees and leadership at all levels.
