Job summary

Alpha Baking Company, Inc., a Chicago based food manufacturing firm, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join the HR and Payroll teams in Chicago. The HR Generalist reports to the Senior Director of Human Resources and is responsible for regional human resources duties.

Qualifications

• Resolves employee relations issues and conducts investigations.
• Interprets policies with management for consistent application.
• Assists with administration of labor agreements and grievance procedures.
• Assists with administration of benefits programs and enrollment communications.
• Oversees leave of absence programs and related compliance.
• Supports development of new HR programs, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinates recruitment with Hiring Managers and Recruiting Coordinator.
• Supports annual performance reviews and employee development initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Resolve employee relations issues and conduct thorough investigations.
• Work with management on policy interpretation, discipline, performance reviews, and terminations.
• Administer labor agreements and grievance procedures.
• Assist benefits administration, onboarding, and open enrollment communications.
• Oversee leave of absence programs and compliance.
• Develop and implement new HR programs, policies, and procedures.
• Coordinate exempt/non-exempt recruitment with Hiring Managers and Recruiting Coordinator.
• Contribute to selection and retention initiatives and partnerships across the organization.
