Job summary

HCS is seeking an experienced HHA scheduler in New York. The role coordinates field staff schedules, minimizes overtime, and ensures timely admission of referrals with bilingual requirements (Spanish plus Russian/Chinese/Creole).

The position involves supervising staff, coordinating admissions, addressing scheduling complaints, and aligning with clinical teams to optimize patient care. Flexibility for nights/weekends is possible; inclusion in an equal opportunity environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of progressive homecare or health care experience.
• Strong written and oral communications; ability to work with diverse constituencies.
• Proficient with EMR and ability to review spreadsheet data.
• Skilled at coaching staff and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Ability to handle confidential documents and information professionally.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged; Spanish plus Russian/Chinese/Creole preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises field staff and manages schedules to minimize overtime and ensure timely admissions.
• Oversees new admissions coordination and keeps leaders informed on activities affecting admission.
• Receives and resolves scheduling-related client complaints and issues.
• Coordinates recruitment needs with Recruiting Department and participates in hiring/orientation.
• Ensures field employees receive appropriate disciplinary action when needed.
• Coordinates caregiver/nurse schedules to optimize client care within budget.
• Manages mass communications with regional staff and communicates critical information.
• Ensures collaboration between Care Coordination, location leadership, and clinical teams.
• Collaborates with clinical team to optimize staffing for patient care delivery.
• May work flexible hours including nights/weekends to resolve escalated scheduling issues.
• Other duties as assigned.
