Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Customer Service Representative to provide telephonic support to patients, customers, and providers. You will handle inbound and outbound calls, schedule appointments, verify insurance, and update records while maintaining HIPAA compliance.

The role requires English/Spanish proficiency, good problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a 24/7 environment with overtime as needed. A sign-on bonus is available for external candidates.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in customer service in fast-paced environments.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Word/Excel or Google Docs/Sheets.
• Ability to learn and navigate complex computer systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and follow up on customer issues.
• Willingness to work a 40-hour week, including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Handle inbound and outbound calls to identify patient needs and provide support.
• Schedule, reschedule, confirm, and cancel patient appointments.
• Enter and update patient information in scheduling systems.
• Verify insurance eligibility and identify payer sources.
• Review and update patient demographics and consent forms.
• Document all interactions and resolutions accurately.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and company policies.
