Qualifications

• High School required.
• HBI training must be completed by start date.
• 1–2 years hospital experience preferred.
• Fluent in Spanish and English; Spanish assessment required.
• Customer service experience and ability to communicate clearly.
• Clerical experience helpful; knowledge of billing processes.
• Able to work with others and remain composed under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Answer all incoming calls and resolve issues promptly.
• Assist walk-in patients with account questions and resolutions.
• Communicate with patients to verify information and update EMR.
• Ensure accounts are updated and sent to insurers when needed.
• Code accounts by carrier and plan numbers for billing.
• Respond to emails, voicemails, and correspondence to resolve issues.
• Process patient payments and research discrepancies.
• Conduct charge adjustments and allowances when required.
• Reconcile patient overpayments and handle third-party billing.
• Adhere to hospital policies and performance standards.
