Job summary

SOCFC seeks a Head Start Teacher in Medford, Oregon. The role focuses on nurturing classroom learning, family engagement, and adherence to Head Start standards.

The teacher supports bilingual families and fosters a developmentally appropriate program for children birth to age 5, collaborating with a Site Manager and education team. The position requires an AAS in ECE (BA/BS preferred), CPR/First Aid, and a CDA or Oregon Registry progression.

Qualifications

• Education required: AAS in ECE; BA/BS preferred.
• CPR/First Aid Certification and Food Handler Certification required.
• Minimum one year teaching young children; preschool age preferred.
• Bilingual Teacher must be able to interpret data and provide information in English and another language.
• Strong organizational, multitasking, and supervisory abilities expected.

Responsibilities

• Directly work with children individually and in groups; ensure safety and development.
• Plan and conduct developmentally appropriate lessons and assess progress.
• Document and track observations and assessments in data systems.
• Engage families through home visits, conferences and family events.
• Lead staff trainings and support PBIS implementation across classrooms.
• Maintain safe, clean, and well-equipped learning environments.
