Job summary

Yami is seeking a Purchasing Specialist in California to own end-to-end category sourcing, planning and procurement. You will generate POs, source new vendors, negotiate terms and manage product lines, while coordinating with marketing to shape pricing and promotions for GMV growth.

The role emphasizes data-driven strategies, vendor performance, and cross-functional collaboration to improve margins and inventory KPIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 2-4+ years of purchasing and vendor management experience in retail.
• Fluent English; mastery of Japanese required.
• Analytical thinker with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Generate purchase orders and manage delivery on a daily basis.
• Source and develop new vendors and negotiate terms.
• Develop products in Asian Food segments based on demand, price, quality and trends.
• Lead category sourcing strategies and optimize KPIs for inventory and cash flow.
• Collaborate with marketing on promotions, pricing and terms.
