Job summary

Arnold & Porter LLP is seeking foreign attorneys for a Foreign Attorney Program in our Washington, DC and New York offices. The six-month temporary role requires bilingual fluency in English and one of Spanish, Portuguese, Korean, or Japanese.

A law degree-equivalent and bar membership are required, with a US LLM preferred. Applicants will observe and participate in international arbitration, trade, and cross-border corporate transactions, with training and seminars provided.

Qualifications

• Must hold a law degree-equivalent from home country and bar membership.
• Preferably an ABA-accredited US LLM or current enrollment in such a program.
• Strong written skills in English and at least one of the listed languages.

Responsibilities

• Observe and participate in US law firm practice and proceedings.
• Undertake legal research and writing for international arbitration, trade, and corporate matters.
• Attend client meetings, hearings, strategy sessions and review case documents.
• Collaborate with Arnold & Porter attorneys on various matters.
