Job summary

Walker Art Center's Public Engagement, Learning, and Impact (PELI) department seeks a Spanish Language Focus Group Facilitator as an independent contractor to support a grant-funded initiative to develop multilingual gallery content. The role requires community-centered research, Spanish language fluency, and strong ties with Spanish-speaking communities in the Twin Cities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience facilitating multilingual, culturally relevant conversations.
• Experience coordinating grant deliverables with external evaluators.
• Proven track record of collaborating with community partners.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cultures, generations, and abilities.
• Excellent facilitation, presentation, organizational skills; detail-oriented.
• Fluency in Spanish in addition to English.
• Proactive and adaptable to diverse community environments.
• Ability to independently plan and coordinate focus group scheduling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare culturally-responsive discussion prompts for two focus groups in consultation with the Manager of Interpretation.
• Establish diverse group composition criteria and recruit focus group participants reflecting the Twin Cities Spanish-speaking community.
• Plan and conduct two annual focus group sessions on Walker Art Center campus (approx. 3 hours each).
• Deliver a written synthesis of focus group findings to project team and external evaluator.
• Provide advisory input on evaluation methods and community engagement opportunities.
