Job summary

Mexican Sugar in Austin, TX is seeking experienced servers to deliver a fresher, lighter Latin dining experience. You will provide attentive, guest-focused service and work with a bilingual team to anticipate guests’ needs.

Candidates should have at least two years of fine-dining serving experience, a High School diploma, and the ability to read, write, and speak English; Spanish is a plus. Certifications like Food Handler and TABC are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years serving experience; high-end casual or fine dining preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read, write, and speak Spanish is a plus.
• Stand for long periods and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Maintain a current Food Handler's Certification and TABC Certification; practice proper sanitation procedures and follow regulations regarding alcohol sale and service.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, guest-focused service in a high-end casual or fine dining setting.
• Know the origins, pronunciations, and ingredients of menu items.
• Recommend drinks for the occasion, including margaritas and tequila selections.
• Create regular guests through resort-style, bilingual service that is warm but not pretentious.
• Inspire teammates to ask for help and work efficiently with the team.
• Balance great service with efficiency to meet guest needs.
