Job summary

Westat is seeking motivated individuals to work as Bilingual Field Interviewers for the MEPS project. The role involves conducting in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households, using a Westat laptop, and traveling as needed.

Training begins January 2027, with mandatory in-person and web-based sessions, followed by ongoing data collection through 2030. This part-time, non-exempt position offers occasional overtime and requires availability of 20 hours per week when work is

Qualifications

• Be 18 or older and able to enter binding confidentiality agreements.
• Complete mandatory web-based training (Jan 4–Jan 15, 2027).
• Travel to in-person training (Jan 19–Jan 25, 2027).
• Post-training home study (Jan 26–Jan 31, 2027).
• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Reside in and travel within project-designated areas.
• Availability to work Jan 2027–Dec 2030 and at least 20 hours/week.
• Driver's license and insured vehicle; no suspension.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds, walk blocks, and climb stairs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews.
• Contact households in-person and by phone to gain cooperation.
• Set appointments, complete interviews, and collect/submit documents.
• Transmit electronic data daily during work days.
• Travel to in-person training and field sites as required.
• Adhere to data security and confidentiality requirements.
