Job summary

Westat is seeking motivated, detail-oriented individuals to work as Bilingual Field Interviewers for MEPS. The role involves in-person and computer-assisted interviews in English and Spanish with adults in households across the U.S. Training starts January 2027, with mandatory travel to in-person sessions and possible overnight trips.

This part-time position runs yearly with two data collection periods. Interviewers report to a field supervisor, transmit data daily, and must meet physical

Qualifications

• Be fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Successfully complete Westat language assessment protocols.
• Reside in and travel within project-designated areas to contact households and conduct in-person interviews.
• Be available to work the data collection period from January 2027 to December 2030.
• Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted interviews with adults in households.
• Contact households in-person or by phone to gain cooperation and set interviews.
• Transmit electronic data daily on work days and complete administrative paperwork.
• Adhere to data security and confidentiality requirements.
