Job summary

Westat, Inc. is seeking motivated bilingual Field Interviewers for the MEPS study in the Pomona area. The role includes in-person and video interviews with English- and Spanish-speaking adults, travel to households, and daily data transmission using a Westat laptop.

Training is mandatory in January 2027, with ongoing web-based and virtual sessions. The position is part-time, with two data collection periods annually and periodic overtime, paid at the stated hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Fluent in both written and spoken English and Spanish.
• Complete Westat language assessment protocols.
• Willingness to travel locally and sometimes overnight as needed.
• Available Jan 2027 through Dec 2030 for data collection.
• Minimum 20 hours per week when work is available, mostly evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person and computer-assisted video interviews with households.
• Contact households in-person and by phone to gain cooperation and schedule interviews.
• Transmit electronic data daily during workdays.
• Complete administrative paperwork and training as required.
• adhere to data security and confidentiality requirements.
