Job summary

UMATILLA-MORROW COUNTY HEAD START INC in Hermiston, OR is seeking a part-time FS&C Family Support Specialist (Bilingual English/Spanish) to support families enrolled in home visiting and connect them with education and community resources.

The role involves referrals, in-home and community-based supports, documentation, trainings, and collaboration with DHS/Child Welfare. Salary ranges from $23.74 to $26.02 hourly, based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• Experience working with caregivers and families in group and one-on-one settings.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• Two years experience working with children and families.
• Current First Aid/CPR.
• Knowledge of early childhood development.
• Ability to keep accurate records.
• Knowledge and skills in working with adult learners.

Responsibilities

• Provide needed assistance to OPEC Coordinator on tasks as assigned.
• Regularly refer clients to Parent Education opportunities.
• Support Parent Circle program.
• Ensure families enrolled in home visiting programs are aware of parent education offerings in their communities.
• Receive referrals from DHS, Child Welfare, and other partners and follow up with face-to-face contact with clients.
• Attend trainings as assigned and complete family partnership assessments with each family.
• Provide in-home and community-based supports and a combination of individual and group supports.
• Maintain DHS Family Satisfaction Surveys and submit results.
• Attend monthly DHS/Child Welfare meetings to discuss client progress.
