Job summary

Denise Louie Education Center in Seattle seeks a Family Services Specialist to support eligible families in Head Start programs, helping them achieve goals and access services. You will coordinate resources, track progress, and enhance family engagement through partnerships and referrals.

The role requires bilingual abilities, a social work credential, and the flexibility to work evenings or weekends. You will collaborate with health, education, and enrollment teams in a dynamic early learning

Qualifications

• A.A. or B.A. in Social Work, Sociology or related field; or a credential within 18 months.
• Bilingual in Mandarin, Cantonese, Vietnamese, Spanish, Amharic, or Tigrinya preferred.
• Prior experience in family support services or related field.
• Valid Washington State driver’s license with vehicle access.
• Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Computer proficiency and basic office equipment knowledge.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of community resources for low income and ESL adults.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies for referrals and resources.
• Assist with eligibility applications, file monitoring, registration, placement and attendance.
• Maintain database with family communications, referrals and progress.
• Coordinate health and dental screenings and relay results to parents.
• Establish family partnership agreements within 90 days of school start.
• Provide ongoing support and documentation in PFCE-related activities.
• Facilitate kindergarten registration and parent training events.
• Coordinate voucher follow-up and co-pay payments with enrollment and finance.
