Job summary

Community Action is seeking a Bilingual Family Resource Navigator to support families with young children in Washington County. You will be the first contact, conduct assessments, and connect families with resources such as Help Me Grow, Healthy Families, CARE, and Find Child Care Oregon.

The role requires sensitivity, trauma‑informed approaches, and strong communication in English and another language. Previous experience in eligibility determination and coordinating with social services is

Qualifications

• 3+ years in eligibility determination and intakes.
• Bilingual English and another language (Farsi/Somali/Vietnamese/AAE Vernacular).
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; accurate data entry.
• Strong communication and crisis de-escalation skills.
• Knowledge of early childhood development and diverse family needs.
• Experience coordinating with social service agencies.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments via phone, virtual, or in-person in Washington County.
• Connect families to programs: Help Me Grow, Healthy Families, CARE, Find Child Care Oregon.
• Assist with screenings and applications in trauma-informed manner.
• Provide care coordination, education, and advocacy, including child development info.
• Allocate resources based on assessments and community knowledge.
• Enroll individuals in Oregon Health Plan.
• Maintain confidential records across databases.
• Build relationships with service providers and diverse client populations.
