Job summary

Community Action of Washington County is seeking a Bilingual Family Resource Navigator to assist families with young children in Washington County. You will conduct comprehensive assessments, connect families to Help Me Grow and related programs, and coordinate resources with trauma-informed care.

The role requires experience in eligibility determination and bilingual fluency in English and another language (e.g., Farsi, Somali, Vietnamese). Transportation and training opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in eligibility determination, including phone and face-to-face client intake and information delivery.
• Bilingual in English and Farsi, Somali, Vietnamese, or African American English Vernacular (spoken and written) required.
• Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and other software; data entry accuracy essential.
• Strong ability to work with diverse families, de-escalate crises, and provide trauma-informed client services.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phone-based, virtual or face-to-face comprehensive assessment interviews with households in Washington County.
• Connect families to programs like Help Me Grow Prenatal to Three, Healthy Families, CARE, and Find Child Care Oregon.
• Assist with program screenings and applications in a professional, trauma-informed manner.
• Provide essential care coordination, education, and advocacy for families, including child development information and quality childcare options.
• Independently allocate resources to households based on assessment results and knowledge of resources.
• Enroll individuals in the Oregon Health Plan.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records across multiple databases.
• Build collaborative relationships with service providers and diverse client populations.
