Job summary

Community Action of Washington County is seeking a Community Resource Advocate II for our Community Connect program. This in-person role supports individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness, guiding them to essential resources using Housing First and trauma-informed approaches.

The position emphasizes client-centered assessments, referrals to housing programs, and compassionate service delivery in our Washington County office. Bilingual Spanish fluency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 6+ months customer service experience or lived experience.
• Bilingual Requirement: REQUIRED to be fully bilingual (verbal and written) in Spanish.
• Experience with data entry.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of professionals and social service agencies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• A commitment to equity, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices.

Responsibilities

• Deliver participant-centered, in-person services to clients at our Community Connect office.
• Conduct face-to-face and telephonic comprehensive assessments and screenings for homeless or at-risk households for a variety of programs in Washington County.
• Participate in a rotation of duties, including managing walk-ins and supporting team members.
• Potentially engage in street outreach to build relationships with unsheltered individuals.
• Determine eligibility and make direct referrals to Washington County housing programs.
• Accurately enter client information and documentation into our database.
• Explain and encourage the use of services for basic needs, health, mental health, and housing.
• Consistently maintain a clean and orderly workspace to ensure healthy, high-quality interactions with clients, preserve confidentiality, and maintain efficiencies in operations.
