Job summary

Russellville School District is seeking an ELL Paraprofessional to support English Learners across K-12. You will assist ESL and classroom teachers with instructional strategies, provide small-group and individual instruction, and help EL students access grade-level content.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Paraprofros must provide 60 college hours or pass paraprofessional exam
• Background check required and reimbursed after pass
• Ability to lift 45–50 lbs
• Ability to work with students on the floor and regain self-sufficiency
• Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred and English grammar proficiency
• Basic computer skills including typing and email
• Excel, Word, Google, Eschool knowledge preferred
• Preschool parapros: Associate’s with 60 early childhood hours or CDA credential (2 years with RSD)
• Must obtain CPR, First Aid, AED every 2 years

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to English Learners in grades K-12
• Assist ESL and classroom teachers with instructional strategies
• Provide small-group/one-on-one instruction for language development
• Push into general ed classrooms to support EL students
• Reinforce English language skills in listening, speaking, reading, writing
• Offer scaffolding, visuals, and vocabulary support
• Assist students with understanding directions and tasks
• Provide overflow interpreting support when needed
• Perform other ESL-related duties as assigned
• May grade student work
