Shafer Elementary in Katy, Texas is seeking a dedicated Aide - ESL to support English Language Learners under the supervision of the Dir. of ESL and Bil. Programs and the Principal.

The role emphasizes collaboration with ESL and core teachers to provide high-quality ESL assistance and to deliver targeted language instruction in a classroom setting. Qualifications include bilingual English/Arabic fluency, relevant paraprofessional credentials, and flexibility to meet deadlines in a busy school

Qualifications

• College hours for Title I campus 48 required or a score of 464 on the ParaPro test
• College hours, high school diploma or GED preferred for non-Title I campus
• Paraprofessional aide certificate required once employed

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with ESL and content teachers in the classroom as needed.
• Facilitate targeted small group instruction based on language levels and needs.
• Support EB students per state and district ESL Program Model.
• Administer oral and written tests for EB students as needed.
• Provide communication in exception language as requested by the Office of Other Languages.
• Maintain confidentiality of students and administration.
• Other duties as assigned.
