Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Multilingual English Learner (MEL) Student Support Paraprofessional to provide academic, linguistic, and cultural support to English Learner students. The role involves direct instructional support, translation, and helping students navigate coursework under licensed staff supervision.

The position emphasizes collaboration with MEL Facilitator, ELD teachers, and school staff to ensure equitable access and strong family communication, including WIDA assessments assistance

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Title I School requires Highly Qualified Paraprofessional status: Associate degree or 48 college credits or MasterTeacher exams within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct instructional support to Multilingual English Learner students.
• Assist in differentiated instruction and language development activities.
• Support Newcomer students with orientation and resource access.
• Help students understand content, assignments and assessments.
• Facilitate communication between students, families and staff, including interpretation when appropriate.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to admin and teachers.
• Collaborate with staff to meet EL students' needs.
• Document academic progress and attendance data.
• Assist with English proficiency assessments (WIDA).
• Support ML families with translation for meetings/events.
