Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an ELD Family Advocate to support English Learner students and their families by removing language and educational barriers. The role is based in the Administration Building as part of the ELD Department, a 10-month (211-day) assignment with non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Must be bilingual and demonstrate cultural competency.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Must have a valid drivers license and be able to travel.

Responsibilities

• Attend work regularly and punctually.
• Telework may be requested by the District with supervisor approval.
• Consult with parents, administrators, counselors and teachers regarding enrollment and placement.
• Translate orally between languages in meetings and interactions.
• Provide translation and interpretation services for attendance, meetings, health issues and programs.
• Refer parents to community services they may qualify for.
• Maintain accurate records of communications and student progress.
• Assist with screening new students using MAP/EOC tests as directed.
