Job summary

Applitrack's Conway Education Center seeks a Positive Pay Teacher Aide for Adult Education to support English language learners and communicate with families. This 185-day position collaborates with teachers and administrators to provide services to non-English speaking students.

Responsibilities include translating communications, serving as liaison with translation providers, maintaining ESOL records, and assisting with placement tests and instructional materials.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 60 college credits or an Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited college/university.
• Paraprofessional certificate (minimum score of 456 on the exam).
• Pass all four areas of Work Keys.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to English language learners in mainstream and ESOL classes.
• Serve as liaison between teachers and parents of English language learners.
• Translate oral and written communication between schools and families.
• Serve as liaison between school and non-English speaking community.
• Serve as liaison between school and translation providers.
• Facilitate completion of paperwork for non-English speaking students.
• Collect records and maintain files for ESOL students.
• Administer placement test to non-English speaking students.
• Participate in in-service training programs, as needed.
• Assist teachers by locating, preparing and organizing instructional materials.
