Job summary

National Youth Advocate Program seeks an Educator for La Jornada to create developmentally appropriate educational experiences and support the well-being of children. You will collaborate with assistants to ensure education, health, and parental involvement services align with program goals.

The role requires a Bachelor's in early childhood or elementary education, bilingual English/Spanish, and 2+ years of teaching. TESL certification may be pursued with NYAP support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or Elementary Education.
• Willingness to obtain TESL certification (paid by NYAP).
• 2+ years of teaching experience and lesson planning.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish); fluency in Spanish required.
• Pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Create developmentally appropriate programs for students.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and class setups to meet individual needs.
• Assess children's needs and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Educators in the classroom.
• Ensure safety of all children in the program.
