Job summary

NYAP is seeking an Educator for La Jornada to maintain a positive educational environment and provide a program meeting cognitive and emotional needs of all students. You will work with Assistant Educators to ensure comprehensive services including education, health, and parental involvement.

You will develop developmentally appropriate plans, assess progress, and support in safety and program goals. A background in education and bilingual capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or elementary education is required.
• Willingness to obtain TESL certification paid by NYAP.
• 2+ years of teaching experience and lesson planning.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a positive educational environment for all students.
• Develop weekly lesson plans and activities tailored to students' needs.
• Assess children’s development and adjust lesson plans accordingly.
• Provide guidance to Assistant Educator/s in the classroom.
• Ensure safety of all children in the program.
• Participate in recruitment activities to meet program goals.
• Document attendance and progress per program requirements.
