Acacia Network in Buffalo, NY is seeking an Education/Employment Specialist to help participants assess educational needs and build individualized plans. The role runs Monday–Friday 8:30a–4:30p and offers a competitive benefits package.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate Degree, has at least two years in educational or employment settings, and is bilingual (Spanish/English). Knowledge of higher education resources and mandated reporter training are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, able to communicate effectively in writing and speech.
• Must have computer and word processing software knowledge.
• Must obtain Mandated reporter training within 30 days from hire.

Responsabilités

• Assess participants and their children for educational needs and develop a plan of services.
• Familiar with higher learning institutions and post-secondary programs to plan career progress.
• Provide instruction tailored to participants' educational levels to achieve training and employment.
• Assist with school enrollment for adults and children.
• Refer clients to educational or employment agencies as needed.
• Maintain progress notes and documentation in participant files.
• Develop comprehensive educational service plans and track progress with reports.
• Coordinate with case managers to implement action plans.
• Guide participants through career and education exploration.
• Assess clients' skills and educational levels.
• Support participants in creating an independent living plan.
• Assist with entitlement applications.
