Job summary

Southern Oregon Head Start seeks an Early Head Start Teacher Assistant to support the Specialist I/EHS Teacher in delivering center-based services. You will help ensure children’s safety, participate in curriculum activities, and document child progress while fostering positive family partnerships.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CDA or Oregon Registry Pathways Step 8, and enrollment in Oregon Registry with relevant certifications. Bilingual skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CDA credential or Oregon Registry Pathways Step 8 required.
• Enrollment in Oregon Registry required; TS Gold Interrater Reliable; CPR/First Aid and Food Handler Certification required (may be obtained after hire).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and maintain documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide nurturing, responsive care to children per EHS policies.
• Ensure child safety and supervision at all times.
• Assist in curriculum planning and implementation under supervision.
• Support daily schedule and individualized plans for children, including those with disabilities.
• Document observations and daily care provided.
• Assist with health/safety routines and classroom organization.
• Welcome and support families and build partnerships.
• Participate in training and professional development.
• Report suspected abuse/neglect per state laws and policies.
