Job summary

Community Action seeks a full-time Assistant Teacher for Head Start at Lincoln Elementary. Ideal candidates hold an Early Childhood credential with bilingual English/Spanish abilities, and have 2+ years of experience with 3- to 5-year-olds.

A Step 7 on the Oregon Registry is preferred and a background check will be completed prior to hire. Starting pay is $23/hour under the Head Start advanced placement rate.

Qualifications

• Associate Credential or higher preferred for Early Childhood Education.
• Two years of experience teaching children ages 3-5.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing weekly lesson plans and observe children.
• Support inclusion of children with mental health or special needs with E.C. Special Education staff.
• Assist families with goal-setting and progress follow-up.
• Use CLASS observations to inform teaching practices and identify development areas.
• Utilize databases to generate reports and ensure program compliance.
