  • Conduct health and developmental screenings in accordance with Minnesota Statute 121A.17, Subd. 6 and district protocols.

    Faribault Public Schools is seeking a qualified and compassionate Bilingual Early Childhood Screener to conduct comprehensive developmental screenings for children ages 3 through kindergarten entry. The Early Childhood Screening (ECS) program is a vital opportunity to connect with families, assess a child’s development, and provide guidance and referrals when concerns are identified. This role supports our district's commitment to early identification, intervention, and family engagement, helping ensure that every child enters school ready to learn.

    Key Responsibilities

    Required Qualifications
    Per Minnesota Statutes 121A.17, Subd. 6, screening must be conducted by an individual who is licensed as or has training comparable to:
    Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, Kindergarten Teacher, Pre-Kindergarten Teacher, School Nurse and/or Public Health Nurse.

    Other Requirements include:
    • Bilingual or multilingual skills in Spanish or Somali.
    • Demonstrated experience or coursework in early childhood development.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both children and adults.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
    • Comfortable working with families from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic backgrounds.
    • Proficiency in using data systems and basic technology tools.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience conducting early childhood screenings in a school or community setting.
    • Familiarity with early childhood resources in Rice County and surrounding areas.

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
    • Flexible, independent scheduling, including occasional evening or weekends.
    • 5-10 hours per week.

    Pay: $23.50 per hour
