The Opportunity

Responsible for greeting donors at the plasma collection center and conducting registration procedures to verify donor suitability for plasma pheresis.

The Role

• Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including health history assessment, medical questions, and health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, temperature, and finger stick for hematocrit and protein levels.
• Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products, explaining the screening process, tests, appointment system, donation fees, policies, nutrition, and address donor questions.
• Register applicants and transfer donors as per training and operational needs.
• Answer phone calls and transfer to appropriate staff.
• Monitor donors during and after the pheresis process for reactions and notify staff if needed.
• Report donor flow issues to supervisors.
• Accurately record donor data in the electronic system.
• Understand policies related to hyper immune programs if applicable.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensure supplies are available, and follow safety policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.
• May be cross-trained in other areas and bilingual skills may be required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills And Experience

Education

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

• At least three months in a clerical or customer service role, preferably in a medical or health environment, or equivalent education and experience.
• Basic math skills required.

Working Conditions

• Follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to see, speak with customers, and observe equipment.
• Stand and walk up to 100% of the time.
• Reach, bend, kneel, manual dexterity.
• Lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions.
• Exposed to chemicals, extreme temperatures, blood-borne pathogens.
• Wear PPE as required.
• Work overtime and extended hours as needed.
