Job summary

The Staff Pad partners with a reputable health center in Pomona, CA, seeking a Dental Assistant / Customer Service Representative to provide clinical, administrative, and staff support for a busy dental clinic. This full-time role ensures smooth patient flow, radiography, and strong customer service across all dental services.

You will assist dentists, manage records, handle triage calls, and support both clinical operations and patient enrollment.

Qualifications

  • Certificate from an accredited dental assisting program (if certified).
  • Board-approved 8-hour infection control course.
  • California Board of Dental Examiners-approved radiation safety course.
  • 1–2 years of experience directly related to the position duties and responsibilities (prior dental experience required).
  • Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during dental procedures.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and organize dental supplies and equipment in accordance with OSHA and clinic standards.
  • Take radiographs as directed by the dentist, when appropriately trained in radiation safety
  • Develop and process dental radiographs according to provider orders
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining radiation safety procedures and protocols
  • Order and maintain inventory of dental clinic supplies
  • Interact with and process dental clinic patients
  • Perform telephone triage and conduct patient interviews
  • Maintain dental laboratory slips
  • Create and maintain dental records in accordance with established protocols and procedures
  • Assist with monthly reporting and quality improvement activities
  • Ensure smooth patient flow by promptly checking in patients, communicating next steps, and monitoring dental patient flow
  • Verify patient eligibility and assist patients with enrollment in additional programs based on program qualifications
  • Confirm and update patient demographic, insurance, and other required information in the EMR
  • Collect payments and comply with the health center’s cash-handling procedures as outlined by the Finance Department
  • Obtain required patient information, including photo ID, insurance card, Medi-Cal, Medicare, and/or Social Security card
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Lead Dental Assistant

We are looking to hire a Dental Assistant / Customer Service Representative for their Dental Clinic to provide clinical, administrative, and staff support for a comprehensive dental services operation. Schedule: Full-Time | 1.0 FTE

What You’ll Do
Key Responsibilities

  • Set up trays for dental procedures
  • Take radiographs as directed by the dentist, when appropriately trained in radiation safety

  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining radiation safety procedures and protocols
  • Order and maintain inventory of dental clinic supplies
  • Interact with and process dental clinic patients

What We Are Looking For
Certifications and Experience
