The Community Advocate at CAC's Faribault Resource Center provides relational, participant-centered services to help individuals access support in Rice County. The role emphasizes trauma-responsive approaches and community engagement to amplify participants' voices.

Responsibilities include intake, coordinating services, health insurance guidance through MNsure, housing referrals, and data documentation, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of social services and community resources.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish or Somali (fluent).
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication.
• Experience with diverse populations.
• Highly organized; able to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to pass background and MVR checks.

Responsabilités

• Conduct intake reflecting strengths, needs and challenges.
• Coordinate services within CAC or via referrals (housing, emergency assistance, etc.).
• Identify barriers and connect participants to supports.
• Utilize crisis intervention to support families and maintain safety.
• Maintain HMIS records and data quality; ensure confidentiality.
• Assist with financial assistance requests and explore other resources.
• Guide participants in health insurance enrollment (MNsure).
