Job summary

Nationwide Credit Corporation (NCC) in Alexandria, VA is seeking a Bilingual Collections Specialist (Spanish/English) to help recover past-due balances and communicate with customers in a respectful, compliant manner.

On-site position with training starting in October, Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and one Saturday per month, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM. Base hourly pay is $20–$23 with potential monthly commission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Fluent in both Spanish and English (written and verbal).
• 2–5 years of similar or related collections experience.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to identify solutions that enhance productivity and improve services.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Independent work ethic with a team-player attitude.
• Ability to listen actively and respond with empathy and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to assist consumers in resolving their delinquent accounts.
• Process incoming payments: enter payments, request paid invoices, and charge credit cards per request.
• Maintain notes of collection activities in FACS Workstation.
• Document collection efforts and payments in internal channels and records.
• Adhere to account guidelines and training materials.
• Balance time between on-phone, wrap-up, wait, and talk time to meet goals.
• Achieve production targets and demonstrate client understanding.
• Ensure monthly compliance reports meet required standards.
• Address account and department needs promptly and adhere to laws and policies.
• Fulfill any additional duties as assigned.

When Does Training Start?

• Training starts this October—don’t miss this opportunity!
• Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
• Predictable Monthly Saturday Schedule: Work one scheduled Saturday per month, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, with the remainder of your weekends free.
• On-site position at our Alexandria headquarters (potential remote opportunity based on performance).

What You’ll Do

• Make outbound calls to assist consumers in resolving their delinquent accounts.
• Process incoming payments: duties include entering payment into our database, request paid invoices, and charge credit cards, per request.
• Maintain notes of collection activities in FACS Workstation.
• Provide thorough and accurate documentation of collection efforts of customer accounts through our internal communication channels, as well as records of any payments collected from the customer.
• Following the account guidelines outlined in documents/training materials.
• Balancing the effective utilization of on-phone, wrap-up, wait, and talk time.
• Achieving production goals.
• Demonstrating precise client understanding.
• Ensuring monthly compliance reports meet acceptable standards.
• Promptly and effectively addressing account and departmental needs and issues.Adhering to Federal and State laws as well as company policies in daily operations.
• Fulfilling any additional duties as assigned.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $20.00–$23.00, based on experience.
