Job summary

Alamo Premier Mental Health Clinic seeks a dependable, bilingual Certified Medical Assistant to cover front-office operations and support clinical workflows in an outpatient mental health setting. Primary duties include patient intake, scheduling, insurance verification, copay collection, and basic clinical support for patients aged 5 and up.

The ideal candidate has outpatient experience with payer portals, benefits verification, and front-end revenue-cycle tasks; fluency in Spanish and English

Qualifications

• Current CMA or CCMA certification required; active Texas MA credentials or equivalent recognized certification preferred.
• Fluent spoken Spanish and English required, including the ability to explain appointments, insurance information, copays, and clinic policies to patients.
• At least two years of outpatient medical-office experience with both front-office and clinical MA responsibilities.
• Experience with insurance verification, payer portals, copay collection, referrals, prior authorizations, and patient-balance workflows.
• Proficiency with EHR/EMR systems, Microsoft Office, phones, and standard office technology.
• Strong communication, judgment, attention to detail, time management, and professionalism with patients.

Responsibilities

• Maintain consistent front-desk coverage; greet patients, check-in/out, and manage scheduling.
• Answer and route calls, including Spanish line; communicate policies clearly.
• Schedule, confirm, reschedule, and manage appointments in the EHR.
• Collect copays and balances; document payments per policy.
• Review demographic and insurance information; request updated cards.
• Protect HIPAA confidentiality in all communications.
