Job summary

The ideal candidate has CMA/MA training (or equivalent), 2+ years in ambulatory care, and experience in mental health or addiction settings.

Qualifications

• CMA or MA training program completion required.
• BART or BLS at hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
• Minimum Two (2) years of experience as a MA in an ambulatory medical practice.
• Experience in mental health and/or addiction treatment setting.
• Requires knowledge of medical terminology, on-line scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics.
• Must be able to function in a fast-paced environment, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and consistently demonstrate empathy and kindness to all staff and patients.

Responsibilities

• Front office management, appointment scheduling, patient check-in, authorizations, accurate billing, and payment processing.
• Back office duties including supply chain and forms management; equipment and environmental sanitation.
• Utilize electronic medical record software for patient charting, screening, and translation services (English/Spanish).
• Occasionally float to other departments to assist; ensure regulatory and safety standards are met.
